Gwyneth Paltrow may be an Oscar-winning movie star and founder of a multimillion-dollar lifestyle brand, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to ticking off her teenage daughter.
The Goop founder learned that the hard way back in March when she shared a selfie on Instagram of herself and daughter Apple Martin (whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin) on the slopes during a ski vacation.
Despite the fact that her daughter’s face was pretty much concealed by her ski goggles, Apple fired back in a snarky comment to her mother.
“Mom we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent,” she wrote in the post (which she later deleted). Replied Paltrow: “You can’t even see your face!”
Paltrow is clearly the kind of person who doesn’t like to make the same mistake twice while maintaining a healthy sense of humour, and returned to social media to celebrate Apple’s 15th birthday by sharing a screenshot of their mother-daughter text exchange, highlighting some “options of Apple-approved birthday posts.”
“Happy 15th birthday my angel @applemartin,” wrote Paltrow on Instagram, accompanying a photo of Apple with a long-stemmed rose clenched in her teeth, and another featuring the text exchange.
“Also here are some options of apple approved birthday posts,” wrote Paltrow’s daughter, with the actress responding, “Oh why thank you. “Don’t need to break the old internet again, now do we?
Responded Apple, “Yeah let’s not.”
