On Friday, The Daily Mail obtained a copy of the newborn’s birth certificate, showing that he was born at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster, a little over an hour drive from Meghan and Harry’s home at Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle.

The certificate also shows that Prince Harry registered his wife as “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex,” with her occupation listed as “Princess of the United Kingdom.”

There had been much speculation about Archie’s birthplace, with some suggesting that Markle had intended to have a home birth. But with the baby overdue, there were reports that the Duchess had been transported to hospital to give birth.

The royal couple were mum about the birthplace when they announced the happy news on May 6.
