Almost one year to the day, Prince Harry is back at St George’s Chapel, Windsor for another Royal Wedding.
This time last year he was prepping for his May 19 wedding to Meghan Markle at the same historic venue.
Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Pippa and James Matthews were all in attendance for the wedding Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston.
Lady Gabriella, known as “Ella” to her friends, is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth, and Princess Michael of Kent.
Prince Harry took a moment away from the Duchess of Sussex and her mother, Doria Ragland, at their nearby Frogmore Cottage where they just welcomed their first son, Archie Harrison.
Prince William was missing from the festivities as he had to fulfil his duties as president of the Football Association at the FA Cup final.
The Queen arrived with Prince Philip who is rarely seen in public since retiring. The 97-year-old was in good spirits as he joked with the Dean of Windsor as well as Prince Harry. The monarch looked bright and cheery in a lilac and pink dress by Stewart Parvin with her typical matching hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s entire family was also at the service as her younger sister, Pippa, is good friends with the groom.
Guests were shuttled in closer to the chapel in vintage green buses where they then made the short walk into the chapel.
Like royal weddings past, the floral arrangements were the things dreams are made of. St George’s was covered in cherry and apple blossom trees, coral sunset peonies, coral and white roses, white hydrangea, white delphiniums, apricot stocks and other seasonal flowers. Perhaps the most significant touch was the ivory “Ella” rose by David Austin named after the bride.
Lady Gabriella arrived at the chapel in a vintage car accompanied by her father. The bride was stunning in a slim fitted lace gown by Luisa Beccaria and long veil that matched the dress. She wore the Russian Fringe-style tiara that both her grandmother, Princess Marina and mother wore on their wedding days.
Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding in Windsor over the past year, Lady Gabriella’s did not include a carriage procession through the town.
Guests will attend the reception at Frogmore House in the evening and dine on a three-tiered cake made of fruit cake, Victoria sponge and lemon Limoncello sponge.
