Emilia Clarke has made a fantastic Daenerys Targaryen on “Game Of Thrones”, but Elizabeth Olsen said that she also auditioned for the part.
Speaking to Vulture, Olsen recalled her “terrible” audition for the hit HBO show.
“When I first started working, I just auditioned for everything, because I like auditioning. And I auditioned for Khaleesi. I forgot that,” she said. “It was the most awkward audition I’d ever had.”
Olsen continued to tell of how she used a monologue from the end of season one. “She’s making this speech to thousands of people about how she’s their queen,” she added. “They didn’t know if they wanted a British accent or not. So, you did it in both. It was terrible. Anytime someone says, ‘Bad audition story.’ That’s one I remember.”
While she didn’t make it big in “GoT”, Olsen did go on to be cast as Scarlet Witch in the Marvel franchise, including playing her character for a limited series on Disney+, the upcoming streaming platform.
