Slipknot’s Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan Thanks Fans For Outpouring Of Support Following Death Of His Daughter

Shawn “Clown” Crahan of Slipknot has had to announce the death of his daughter.

The percussionist shared the news on the band’s social media.

“It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday – Saturday May 18th, 2019. She was 22 years old,” he wrote. “Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you. Much love, clown.”

On Wednesday, the band posted a statement from Crahan on Twitter, expressing thanks for fans’ thoughts and prayers for his family.

He also included details about Gabrielle’s funeral for fans looking to send flowers.

Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s lead singer shared his condolences. “My heart has broken for my brother. Please keep the Crahan family in your thoughts and love. She will be missed.”

Crahan has three other children with wife Chantel. His sons, Simon and Gage, and daughter Alexandria.

“Today is the hardest day ever, I’m confused, I’m angry, I’m sad and I’m just sad just really sad,” Simon wrote on Instagram. “Gabri I miss you so much I miss you like no other we were best friends we had a good bond and now your not here anymore. I love you Gabri and I know you’ll know that forever.”

Alexandria also mourned her sister, “This is too tragic I hope you and your family take the time needed to process your grief. This scares me because I am also 22 and makes me want to live life a little more, if not for myself, but for those who bo longer can. My love and sympathy to you, your brothers, your mother and father and the rest of the Crahan family.”

The cause of death is still unknown.
