More details on the plot of Quentin Tarantino’s ninth feature are being revealed in the full-length trailer for his “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”.
Leonardo DiCaprio leads an all-star ensemble cast as Rick Dalton, a Hollywood actor whose career has seen better days. With his longtime friend and stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) by his side, the pair are caught up in the tail end of a changing industry set in the final days of Hollywood Golden Age in 1969. As his own star fades, Rick witnesses his neighbour Sharon Tate’s (Margot Robbie) meteoric rise as Cliff meets a young woman (Margaret Qualley) determined to recruit the stuntman into Charles Manson’s (Damon Herriman) nearby cult.
The brand new full-length trailer also teases the rest of the ensemble cast, giving quick glimpses at Al Pacino as a studio exec, Lena Dunham as one of the Manson family members, Dakota Fanning, Kurt Russell, Timothy Olyphant and the late Luke Perry in his final role. The film also features Bruce Dern as the ageing owner of the Spahn Ranch where Manson set up camp, Damian Lewis as actor Steve McQueen, Emile Hirsch as hairdresser Jay Sebring and Rumer Willis as actress Joanna Pettet. James Marsden, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Bell, Michael Madsen and Tim Roth are too among the cast, as is Maya Hawke, daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.
Ahead of the film’s world premiere at Cannes on Tuesday, Tarantino took over the movie’s Twitter and Instagram pages, imploring audiences and critics not to spoil the film ahead of its theatrical release on July 26.
The film’s official Twitter account also had some fun releasing 1960s-era movie posters featuring DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton.
