Eugenie Bouchard revealed that she’s overcome an eating disorder that developed following “a lot of pressure,” the CBC reports.
The Canadian tennis star opened up about her struggle when speaking with press after her first round victory at the French Open. “Before matches I was very nervous and definitely had trouble eating. And not just before matches, [it] happened to me at other meals as well,” she said before adding that food “would come right back up.”

Her health struggle was mirrored in her rankings as the 22-year-old slipped to 48th at the end of 2015 after being seeded 7th — a career-high for Bouchard — following her Wimbledon loss to Petra Kvitova, and reaching the semifinals of the French and Australian Open.
