Scott Stapp is back with new music.
The Creed frontman dropped his powerful new single “Name” on Thursday, along with a lyric video, all about being the best father he can be to his sons Jagger, 21, and Daniel, 8, and his daughter Milan, 12.
In the moving lyrics, Stapp sings about the heartbreak he endured as a child.
“I am a son without a father. He gave his name and walked away/I am a man, now a father. And I swear my son will never know that pain,” he sings. “I was a child, I was abandoned. Too young to fight to have a say.”
Along with the new single, Stapp announced a summer tour, hitting hot spots all across the United States.
“Name” is the second single off his upcoming album The Place Between The Shadows that documents his five-year journey of being sober and finding “meaning and redemption in a world where shadows lurk and the space between is a gauntlet towards the light.”
