Time is not on Jaden Smith’s side — or at least that was the case when the son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith arrived an hour late to attend the premiere of his dad’s latest film with his family.
Luckily for fans, Will Smith documented the whole thing on video that he shared with his 31.8 million Instagram followers.
The tardy rapper, 20, admitted “it was my my fault” when he showed up late to the “Aladdin” premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, and then asked if they could take a family photo as they exited the theatre.
“We were on the red carpet waiting for him as a family,” yelled Smith, who plays the Genie in Disney’s live-action remake of the animated classic.
“We’re in a freaking alley behind the theatre. This is not a time for a family photo!” he continued.
“We had the best photographers in the world waiting for us on the red carpet!” griped the “Independence Day” star, 50.
His son interrupted: “It was 6 o’clock. I was here at 6:15!”
“You were not,” Smith told his son, backing it up with timestamped evidence.
Smith added a hilarious caption to his Instagram post, writing, “Hey Elon Musk, can you make Bigger Clocks in the next Tesla so @c.syresmith can be on time for my next premiere?”
“Aladdin” arrives in theatres on Friday, May 24.
