Zach Galifianakis is expanding his beloved “Between Two Ferns” web series into a feature film.

Netflix announced this week that the “Funny or Die”-produced “Between Two Ferns: The Movie” will be released Sept. 20.
“The Hangover” star’s web series involves him interviewing various celebrities, from Michael Cera to Barack Obama and making things as awkward as possible.

Netflix provided an official plot description for the film: “Zach Galifianakis dreamed of becoming a star,” the synopsis says. “But when Will Ferrell discovered his public access TV show ‘Between Two Ferns’ and uploaded it to ‘Funny Or Die’, Zach became a viral laughing stock. Now Zach and his crew are taking a road trip to complete a series of high-profile celebrity interviews and restore his reputation.”
Directed and co-written by comedian Scott Aukerman, “Between Two Ferns: The Movie” promises more “celebrities you’ve never heard of.”
