Depictions of Hollywood as a bastion of liberalism are largely accurate, although there are notable exceptions.
One of these is Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, who took to Twitter in the wee hours of Saturday morning to share a two-part video lauding President Trump, currently embroiled in scandal as everything from his inauguration donations to his tax returns, to banking records to his charity foundation are being investigated.
For Voight, however, all these investigations are the result of a left-wing propaganda machine targeting a man he describes as one of America’s best-ever presidents.
The 80-year-old “Ray Donovan” star begins his video by addressing his “fellow Republicans,” stating that “our president has our utmost respect and our love. This job is not easy for he’s battling the left and their absurd words of destruction,” adding that “our country is stronger, safer, and with more jobs because our president has made his every move correct.”
Continues Voight: “Don’t be fooled by the political left, because we are the people of this nation that is witnessing triumph, so let us stand with our president, let us stand up for this truth: that President Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
Much like America itself, Twitter was divided about Voight’s pro-Trump message, with some people blasting him for his political views:
On the other side of the spectrum were those who threw their support behind Voight, sharing his Lincoln-like admiration for the current POTUS.
