“Big Little Lies” was already full of star power, but the show really brought out the big guns for its second season.
On Monday’s “Good Morning America”, the male stars of the show — James Tupper, Adam Scott and Jeffrey Nordling — discussed the new season and working with new addition Meryl Streep, who joined the cast in the new season as the mother-in-law of Nicole Kidman’s character, who’s trying to find out the truth behind the death of her son (Alexander Skarsgard)
“I remember the first time I met her was at a table read for the show… it was finally that moment. As an actor, you’re waiting your whole life to meet Meryl Streep,” Scott said. “I meet her. ‘Hello, how are you?’ ‘Very nice to meet you.’ Great. She moves on, and Laura Dern came up to me immediately right after and was like ‘I was watching the whole thing, you did fine.’”
Tupper also teased that the new season has plenty to offer.
“Believe it or not, there’s new and fresh lies,” he quipped.
Scott also talked about coming back for a second-season despite the fact that the first season was meant to be a one-and-done limited series.
“They had gotten rid of all of the wardrobe, everything,” he said. “We had to start from scratch. So it was a great call to get, but somewhat unexpected.”
