Lamar Odom discusses everything from the Kardashians to his near-death experience at a Las Vegas brothel in a new interview with ABC News’ Juju Chang for “Good Morning America”.
Odom, who was found unresponsive after suffering 12 seizures, six strokes, and his heart stopping twice following a four-day bender in 2015, says his troubles began when his mom died of cancer when he was 12-years-old.
The basketball player explains, “You’re looking to… fill that void, you know, with things. And, you know, some things I was trying to fill that void with were destructive.”

Odom goes on to talk about his addiction and how for a long time his drug of choice was cocaine.
Admitting the first time he tried cocaine was during a sexual encounter, Odom says: “It’s toxic.”
He adds the combination “was like [the] unleashing of a demon.”
Odom’s candid interview also sees him talk about hiding his addiction from Khloe Kardashian, whom he married in 2009 after just one month of dating. They finalized their divorce in 2016.
The sportsman, who opens up in his new memoir Darkness to Light, goes on: “I was professional at hiding it. Khloe didn’t know for a long time.”
“You don’t want your wife to know that you’re sniffing coke and having sex with other women.”
He even says there was one night when he threatened to kill Kardashian during a drug-induced argument.
Odom shares, “I’m pretty sure she had to be scared at that point in time. I’m thinking about it now, like, I couldn’t believe how I was treating that queen like that.”
Odom discusses things further with TMZ, speaking to the site after an appearance on “The View”.
The star previously insisted he did not do drugs on the night of his overdose, so therefore believes someone could’ve tried to posion him. He thinks that person could have been Dennis Hof, who owned the Love Ranch brothel.
Odom says, “Dennis Hof, I don’t know what he had against me but I didn’t do drugs that night.”
“I don’t know what he had against me… he tried to kill me.”
Hof died in October 2018.
