“Booksmart” is winning raves from critics, but the teen comedy from actor-turned-director Olivia Wilde (“House”) hasn’t seen those glowing translate into box-office success, with a dismal $8.7 million domestic opening during the competitive Memorial Day weekend.

In hopes of a box-office turnaround, Wilde took to social media to tout the comedy, urging moviegoers to check the the new flick, which in addition to a female director also features two female leads in Beanie Feldstein and Olivia Wilde.

“We are getting creamed by the big dogs out there and need your support,” wrote Wilde on Twitter, apparently referring to such box-office behemoths as “Aladdin”, “John Wick: Chapter 3” and “Avengers: Endgame”.
