Thomas Markle is less than impressed with Lifetime’s Prince Harry and Meghan Markle film, “Harry And Meghan: Becoming Royal”.
The father of the Duchess of Sussex spoke with TMZ after the flick’s premiere, calling it “dumb fiction.”
According to the outlet, Thomas isn’t happy with how the network portrayed him in the events leading up to their royal wedding last year. He is now insisting, despite what the film claimed, he never bailed on his daughter’s wedding, crediting his heart surgery as the reason he didn’t walk Meghan down the isle.
The new film took some creative license with the couple’s final days ahead of their wedding, including all the drama involving her father.
In a sneak peek at the B.C.-shot movie, released just a week before its premiere, Meghan and Harry (played by Tiffany Marie Smith and Charlie Field) are having a tough conversation with Thomas.
“We heard you had a heart attack. I’m sorry you had to go through this,” Meghan says in the clip. “We had to hear about this in the tabloids and you did stage the photos.”
“Harry And Meghan: Becoming Royal” premiered over the weekend on Lifetime Canada.
