Kate McKinnon recently showed off her killer Reese Witherspoon impression, fooling New Yorkers into believing she was the actress.
The “Saturday Night Live” star joined Billy Eichner on the streets of New York City for the latest episode of “Billy On The Street” to celebrate Witherspoon and the season two premiere of “Big Little Lies”.
“It’s one of the biggest days we’ve ever had on Billy on the Street because joining us for the first time is one of my favourite actresses and yours, from ‘Legally Blonde’ to ‘Big Little Lies’, to one of my personal favourites, ‘Election’, please welcome to ‘Billy on the Street’ for the first time, Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon,” Eichner says in the introduction.
And McKinnon channelled Witherspoon’s adorable southern accent and replied, “Thank you so much for having me! This is really exciting.”
The pair then ran to unsuspecting streetwalkers, introducing McKinnon as Witherspoon and no one seemed to notice the difference.
With the season two premiere of “Big Little Lies” around the corner, the real Witherspoon is set to reunite with “BLL” co-stars Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz with the new addition of Meryl Streep.
Streep will take on the role of Perry Wright’s (Alexander Skarsgård) mother Mary Louise.
And while plot details have been kept under wraps, the second season will pick up after *Spoiler Alert* Perry’s murder. The Monterey Five aren’t just dodging police questions, but Mary’s too.
“Big Little Lies” returns June 9.
