After saying goodbye to “Game of Thrones” on May 19, Sophie Turner is revealing if she would ever reprise her hit role as Sansa Stark.
Speaking with Sky News, the 23-year-old British actress says that playing the role of Sansa once again “would just be more trauma.”
“I think it’s time to say goodbye to Sansa. I’m ready… ish, to say goodbye to her,” Turner, who recently tied the knot with Joe Jonas, explains. “I think my watch has ended. It’s been 10 years of my life and the best 10 years of my life by far.”
Making reference to how her character ended the eighth and final season as – SPOILER ALERT – the new Queen of the North, the actress adds, “I finished in a very happy place with Sansa and it’s time to let her go.”
While HBO has previously announced that there will be no direct spin-offs to the fantasy show, “GoT” creator George R.R. Martin contends that they do have five “successor shows in development” with three of them “moving forward nicely.”
In particular, the first announced prequel will star Oscar nominee Naomi Watts.
Meanwhile, Turner’s new “X-Men” film with Jessica Chastain, “Dark Phoenix”, hits movie theatres on June 7.
