By Shakiel Mahjouri.

Snoop Dogg has a loud bark and a vicious bite when things rub him the wrong way.

The rapper took to Instagram to vent his frustration over what he sees as Hollywood’s repetitive portrayal of black slavery: “How the f**k they gonna put “Roots’ on Memorial Day? They gonna just keep beating that sh*t in our heads of how they did us, huh?”

The west coast icon had plenty of ammo, pointing to movies like “12 Years A Slave” and TV series like “Underground” as examples of going to the well one to many times.

Snoop Dogg believes that mainstream entertainment should focus more on the present struggles of black people: “I don’t understand America. They just want to keep showing the abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago. But, guess what? We taking the same abuse [now]. Think about that part.”

But it’s not only the negative Snoop Dogg dwells on. He says there are important stories of black success that Hollywood should use to motivate people: “When y’all gonna make a mother f**king series about the success that black people have?”
