Even the Jonas Brothers thought they would never reunite.
During a candid interview with “CBS Sunday Morning”‘s Tracy Smith, brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick admitted to thinking their 2013 breakup was the end of the Jonas Brothers, forever.
“I checked out in my mind that – that was it. There’s going to be no more brothers ever,” Joe revealed.
And when Nick decided to pull the plug on the band to pursue a solo career, he was afraid he wouldn’t even have his brothers anymore, “I feared that, you know, we – they would never speak to me again.”
But Nick believed their hearts weren’t in it anymore, “To call it creative differences is almost too simple,” he explained. “And I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren’t selling. We were making music that I don’t think we were all super proud of, and it wasn’t connected.”
Now, six years later, the trio is back and better than ever.
“I think we definitely were supposed to go through all of what we went through to get to this point, definitely,” Joe added. “I think it was, it was kind of, I guess you could say destiny, whatever it may be, but yeah, we got a do-over, and I think this time around we’re going to do it right.”
The Jonas Brothers are gearing up to release their fifth studio album, Happiness Now (out June 4), before launching a world tour this summer.
The JoBros will hit Toronto August 23 and 24 before returning on Nov. 26.
