Katy Perry’s newest single “Never Really Over” is finally here.
The new summer smash is produced by Zedd which Perry calls “amazing”.
“Specifically, the lyrics in the second verse which I love is – ‘I guess I should try to go to therapy to try to get you out of my brain, I can’t even go on the internet, without even checking your name’.”
The “Dark Horse” singer describes the choreography in the music video for her new song as “unique,” adding, “I’m not really a ballet kind of girl, I have to learn on the fly and it’s harder for me to dance naturally. I’m more of a pass the burrata girl. I didn’t grow up in the dance world or having dance lessons so everything looks a little awkward and sometimes I get very publicly shamed for my awkwardness.”
Ever detail surrounding this release was thought of, right down to the “age of Aquarius, new age, California, healing, hippie, medicinal, plant-based” vibe. Perry adds in a statement that those are the “word that I have come to live by and incorporate this way of life in the past five years.” She wanted to incorporate this into her music and videos.
“I’m not sure that cupping has ever been in a music video or facial acupuncture and you don’t necessarily need injections, but I mean you could get both,” she said.
