Ellen DeGeneres welcomes Mark Wahlberg to her daytime talk show on Friday, where the “Ted” star celebrates his 48th birthday in style with a sweet gift from the host.
Noting how much Wahlberg has always admired DeGeneres’ collection of watches, she presents him with a very special gift ahead of the big day (June 5). “I got you a watch,” she tells him.
“You know, she gets the best, most exclusive watches,” Wahlberg excitedly tells the audience as DeGeneres reaches behind her chair to grab the watch.
She hands him the gift-wrapped box to open, revealing… a Casio calculator watch.
“Nice!” declares Wahlberg of the gag gift.
Wahlberg also discussed his upcoming 10th wedding anniversary on Aug. 1, and revealed his celebration plans. “We’re going to go on a holiday early,” he said. “We’re going to go next week. I just shot a movie in Utah, I was away for five, six weeks, we’re going to go on a holiday on our own. Then later in the summer, when the kids are out of school, we’re going to take the kids on a holiday.
Meanwhile, the father of four told DeGeneres about teaching his 15-year-old daughter how to drive, which led to an unfortunate accident involving a golf cart and a lava rock.
Later in the show, Mark’s older brother Paul Wahlberg joins them to talk about the 10th and final season of their reality show, “Wahlburgers,” which segues into the brothers putting their basketball skills to the test as they attempt to make a half-court shot that will result in a $25,000 donation to the American Cancer Society.
