Kenny Rogers Undergoes Hospitalization And Treatment For Dehydration As Rep Refutes Serious Health Reports

Country music legend Kenny Rogers is undergoing treatment for dehydration at a hospital in Georgia.

A spokesperson for the 80-year-old icon released a statement to the media on Friday to refute what they called  “recent wild misinformation and speculation” over the singer’s health after tabloids reported the “Islands In The Stream” singer was close to death.

“Kenny was recently admitted to a local Georgia hospital and treated for dehydration,” the statement posted to Instagram reads. “Rogers will remain there to complete some physical therapy to get his strength back prior to discharge. He appreciates the concern and well wishes he has received from his fans and can assure everyone he plans on sticking around through the years to come.”

Rogers retired from performing in October 2017 with an all-star tribute concert performance in Nashville. He was set to embark on a farewell tour in 2018 but a “series of health challenges” forced “The Gambler” singer to pull out of the tour.
