While Kit Harington is recharging his batteries at a Connecticut wellness facility, some of his fans are showing their support in the most inspiring way possible — by raising money for the “Game of Thrones” star’s favourite charity.
Some of the actor’s U.K. fans have launched a JustGiving account for the British charity Royal Mencap Society, an organization that assists people with learning disabilities.
Since its launch, fans have already raised more than £36,000 pounds (approximately US$45,000) for the crowdfunding effort, with a goal of reaching £50,000.
“Kit Harington has given so much to the fans of ‘Game of Thrones’ over the past decade playing the King in the North, Jon Snow. He absolutely nailed his performance and we loved every second of screen time we had with him,” reads the description of the JustGiving fundraiser, which was launched to thank the 32-year-old actor “for the sheer amount of love and skill he put into Jon Snow for us to enjoy.”
The fundraising effort also shares links to info on Harington’s history with the Mencap Society, along with a video he recorded earlier this year on behalf of the charity.
