Jay-Z has become the first hip-hop star to become a billionaire.

In a new article published by Forbes, the rapper has built an empire based on his love of art, real estate, and his successful companies, including Armand de Brignac champagne.

He also has a stake in Uber, which is worth an estimated $70 million, and launched streaming service Tidal and the entertainment company Roc Nation.

As well, Jay-Z partnered with Bacardi to make cognac, D’Ussé.

“Jay-Z resonates with consumers who are attracted to the ultra-premium lifestyle,” said Eric Schmidt, Beverage Marketing Corp.’s director of alcohol research.
