Jessica Alba gets a lot out of going to therapy, so she brought her daughter along.

At the Her Conference in Hollywood on Saturday, the actress spoke about taking her 10-year-old daughter with her to therapy in order to “learn to be a better mother to her and communicate better with her.”

The 38-year-old mother of three also spoke about why she personally seeks out therapy, as opposed to other ways to improve her mental health.

“Some people think, like in my family, you talk to a priest and that’s it,” she said, according to¬†The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t really feel comfortable talking to him about my feelings.”

Alba continued, “I didn’t grow up in an environment where you talked about this stuff, and it was just, like, Shut it down and keep it moving… So I find a lot of inspiration just in talking to my kids.”
