Ciara is happy in love, but it was a difficult process getting there.
On the new episode of “Red Table Talk”, the singer opens up about her split from rapper Future soon after the birth of their son in 2014.
“I’d be in the shower, crying because I’m not in the happiest place. It hurts what I’m going through,” Ciara tells co-hosts with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris.
The 33-year-old also reveals that it was her son, also named Future, who inspired her to leave the relationship.
“When I started thinking about my son, Future, I realized I have to start making different decisions. Period,” she says.
Ciara also speaks about meeting her current husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
“It was different,” she says of Wilson. “He was like this, open arms, like, ‘I got you.'”
Ciara and Wilson wed in 2016 and share 2-year-old daughter Sienna together.
