Tracy Morgan was briefly treated in an ambulance after getting into a car accident in New York City on Tuesday, damaging his brand-new Bugatti sports car — which he just purchased minutes earlier.
The New York Post reports that the 50-year-old comedian was driving his just-purchased car — for which he reportedly paid $2 million — on 42nd Street in Manhattan when another driver attempted to make a right turn and sideswiped Morgan’s new ride.
“He said he got it literally an hour ago and he paid $2 million for it,” eyewitness Chris Ricciardell told the Post. “He just bought it, dude, and it’s pretty scraped up.”
According to the Post, the former “30 Rock” star was treated in an ambulance at the scene, and then left with another person.
“The first thing he said was his left hip was hurting him,” Ricciardelli said; Morgan was severely injured in a 2014 car crash when his chauffeured vehicle was stuck by a Wal-Mart truck, leaving him comatose for two weeks while other injuried included a broken leg, nose and ribs.
Meanwhile, TMZ is reporting that Morgan bought the car — a 2012 Bugatti Veyron — just 15 minutes before the crash, with the car reported to already be back at the dealership “to assess the damage.”
Following the incident, the “Saturday Night Live” alum took to Twitter to let fans know he’s “totally fine,” although the extent of the damage to his car remains to be seen.
