It’s an exciting day for Brie Larson and Marvel fans alike as news breaks that the Oscar-winning actress is in early talks to play “Captain Marvel.”

According to Variety, plans for “Captain Marvel” are still in its early stages, but Larson seems to be the first choice for the part. If the “Room” star lands the leading role, she will play Carol Danvers, whose DNA mixes with that of an alien and leaving her with superpowers such as strength, flight and the ability to project energy.

“Inside Out” writers Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman are currently in the midst of writing the screenplay, while Kevin Feige is set to produce.

Since her Oscar win for Best Actress, Larson has already nabbed some pretty stellar roles, including, “Kong: Skull Island,” and “The Glass Castle”. n
