Zoë Kravitz spoke about “Big Little Lies” and that Rolling Stone cover during an appearance on Wednesday’s “Late Show”.
Kravitz recreated her mother Lisa Bonet’s iconic cover for the magazine, with Colbert asking the actress if her mom knew she was going to do this.
She admitted, “She did. But I think when she saw it, it was different. It was great to pay homage to her.”
Kravitz talked about Meryl Streep starring in season 2 of “Big Little Lies”, saying she’s glad the show was picked up for another season.
She said of her on-screen character, “We were only supposed to do one season and there was a lot more about Bonnie in the book that we weren’t able to incorporate into the series. Because we wanted to make sure the end was as surprising as possible.”
“I’m really happy it worked out this way because this time we get to explore Bonnie’s past. [Her] mother comes into town, we get to learn more about [her] family and why she might have done what she… didn’t do on purpose at the end of the show.”
