While the Toronto Raptors emerged triumphant in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, beating the Golden State Warriors in a 105-92 victory, it did not come without a cost.
Or at least that’s the case with Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet, who got banged up during the game when he was unintentionally slammed in the face by the elbow of the Warriors’ Shaun Livingston while the two competed to capture a rebounding ball.
In addition to requiring several stitches under his right eye, VanVleet also suffered a chipped tooth in the fracas, with the remainder of his tooth left on the floor of the court.
Later, VanVleet shared a photo of his battered face and chipped-tooth smile, writing in the caption, “Need my s**t fixed asap.”
After posting his message, VanVleet received a response from Raptors Global Ambassador and unabashed super fan Drake, who offered to help out.
“Damn twin,” wrote Champagne Papi, “you can use my free health care.”
The NBA Finals resume Monday, June 10, with Game 5 to be held at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
