YouTube Star Jaclyn Hill Offers Full Refund On Lipsticks After ‘Hair, Beads And Pitting’ Are Found In Them

Jaclyn Hill’s launch of her own cosmetics line is not going as well as she would have hoped.

The YouTube star, 28, launched Jaclyn Cosmetics, a line of 20 lipsticks, that sold out almost immediately. However, once customers received their orders, the complaints also rolled in.

Everything from the products being damaged or broken to what the lipstick contains has been brought up.

YouTuber RawBeautyKristi called out Hill’s line in a video titled, “THE TRUTH ABOUT JACLYN HILL COSMETICS LIPSTICKS”. Using a microscope, “hairs, beads, and pitting” were found in the lipsticks.

“When i was unboxing and looking at each of the lipsticks, I noticed that what people were saying was true, that there were some issues with the outer appearance of the actual lipstick themselves. Upon further inspection, I noticed fibers, hairs, beads, and pitting in a bunch of the lipsticks. I decided to put them under a microscope to see what everything looked like up close, and I was SHOCKED,” she said.

Adding, “I do NOT think that Jaclyn was aware of the quality of these before them going out, I think that these lipsticks are either OLD OR the lab has ZERO quality control and that they are contaminated (which is what I truly think happened) I really feel like the lab did Jaclyn dirty. I think they released less than poor quality products and now she and her brands reputation are paying the price.”

Hill responded, saying, “If any of you are receiving lipsticks like this…. please know that this is NOT hair! My factory used brand new white gloves to do quality control & they shed all over my product! We switched to rubber gloves 2 days ago & will make sure this never happens again.”

Hill then went silent for sometime before turning to Instagram stories to explain herself.

“I felt so much pressure and panic to get a video up…I just wanted to defend my brand so bad,” she started.

“At this point, I have sent out my lipsticks to five different labs that test product vigorously. I have spent over $100,000 on this process,” she explained.

“Long story short, the lab that I worked with, I will never be working with again obviously. There’s been many people fired over this. We’ve got an entire new team we are building for quality control because obviously that didn’t work.”

Hill then added that every single customer will be getting their money back, even if they didn’t request a refund.

“I have made the decision to give every single person who purchased one of my lipsticks a full refund. I think that’s the best thing I can do at this point…there’s a lot of people out there who love their lipsticks, and that’s great, but I don’t care,” she said. “I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer from Jaclyn Cosmetics…I don’t care about the loss of this money…you know how embarrassing this is for me. I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”
