Days after news of Bradley Cooper’s split from Irina Shayk, Lady Gaga is urging fans to “be kind.”
The superstar singer has been the subject of comments and suggestions a romance was blossoming between the “A Star Is Born” director and star, thanks to their undeniable chemistry on and off the screen. Their passionate duet of “Shallow” at the Oscars only fuelled the flames that the pair were more than just friends — something Gaga has refuted multiple times. Now, in the wake of Cooper’s split from Shayk after four years together, is the “Born This Way” singer is addressing the drama?
Before launching into “Shallow” at the piano during her Las Vegas show on Saturday, Lady Gaga took time to show her continued support for the LGBTQ+ community, recalling the time she was told her image was “too gay” for mainstream audiences.
“Everything was ‘too gay’. I remember saying, ‘Well, I don’t see it that way but there’s also gay people in the world’. They told me it wouldn’t work and they tried to change me but I never let them,” she says before segueing into the film’s ballad. “You know why? Because I thought they were ‘Shallow’.”
Just as she started “Shallow”, Gaga had the last word of advice to fans: “Oh, and one more thing. Be kind, be kind or f*** off.”
Cooper, 44, and model Shayk, 33, began dating in 2015 and have a two-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine. The former couple are reported to be “amicably working out” shared custody of their daughter.
