Dominic Purcell suffered a serious accident on the set of Fox’s new event-series “Prison Break”.

According to Deadline, “a set piece was dislodged and fell on his head” while filming a scene on the Morocco set of the new project. The actor was quickly airlifted from Marrakesh to Casablanca, where he is being treated. Purcell is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.

The actor shared a bruised-up selfie with his Instagram followers on Thursday, ensuring fans that he is well and thanking his fans for their support. “I’m good…Had a little accident on set. Haha ! Back at work asap. Pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your #head!! busting it open severely also broke my nose in two places. Haha. I got a free nose job out of it…… Stoked to be alive,”; Purcell wrote.

He continued, “Doc said I have an unusually tough tissue fiber that’s what saved me apparently. Thank god for my #Viking heritage hahaha !!!!”;

Though “Prison Break” has filmed much of their new season in Vancouver, production was moved to Morocco to film a scene that is set in civil war-town Yemen. Filming is slated to resume in Vancouver next week and any scenes missed by Purcell are expected to be filmed through a green screen when he fully recovers.

“Our friend and colleague Dominic Purcell was injured earlier this week during the filming of our event series Prison Break, and was flown to a medical facility where he received treatment,” a 20th Century Fox spokesman wrote in a statement. “We are happy to report that he is in great spirits and is expected to make a full recovery. He wanted us to express his appreciation to the fans around the world who have expressed their concern and support, and to reassure them that he will be back at work very soon.”
