A judge has ruled in Britney Spears’ favour and granted her the restraining order against her former manager Sam Lutfi.
The “Toxic” singer was not in court but her family spoke out for her. Her father, Jamie Spears, recalled a text message sent to her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears’, husband, Jamie Watson. Lutfi said that he could change the conservatorship so that her mother, Lynne Spears, would be in charge.
Watson sent the message to his father-in-law, who contact his lawyer. According to Jamie, Lutfi was trying to “disassemble the conservatorship.”
Court documents also showed the Lutfi offered $1000 to Lynne to “disrupt and take over” the conservatorship process and that he allegedly threatened to release items belonging to Britney from when he managed her.
The restraining order will be in effect for the next five years.
