How many times would you be able to watch “Avengers: Endgame” in theatres?
Superfan Agustin Alanis is on a quest to find out his limit and break a world record, racking up an incredible 116 viewings of the blockbuster Marvel movie.
Speaking to CNET, Alanis said: “I wasn’t planning to try and break [the world record] to begin with. But I had watched it everyday since it came out for two weeks, and just like the movie shattered records, I decided to do it as well.”
He added that he “can’t be sick of it,” but admitted, “I do recite [the lines] in my mind, and sometimes out loud when there’s no one sitting next to me.”
The 30-year-old also says that he has not ducked out of the theatre even once to go to the bathroom, despite the film’s three-hour running time.
Alanis is currently aiming to break 200 viewings of the film, putting him well past the current record for most theatrical viewings of the same movie.
Earlier this year, Guinness World Records certified that Anthony Mitchell had watched the previous entry in the franchise, “Avengers: Infinity War”, an impressive 103 times.
“We have crossed words on Twitter, with him cheering me on to break the record,” Alanis said.
Alanis’ family is also cheering on his record attempt.
“My friends and family have been very supportive,” he said. “My parents and younger sister came with me when I reached 100 views.”
