Baseball may be America’s “national pasttime,”; but over in Japan the game is flavoured by some uniquely Japanese cultural seasoning, such as having characters from two iconic horror films take the field to play ball.
That’s what happened recently when Sadako (of horror hit “The Ring”;) was joined by Kayako and creepy son Toshio (of “The Grudge”;) to open a game between the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Yakult Swallows.

Their presence wasn’t just a random appearance, though; the characters were on hand to promote the upcoming horror movie “Sadako vs. Kayako”;, which melds the two made-in-Japan horror franchises.
