The dark-comedy that is produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov was to be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (“The Favourite”) but Charlie McDowell (“The One I Love”) has filled his shoes.

Dunst portrays Krystal Stubbs, a waterpark employee who works her way up the ranks of the cult pyramid scheme, Founders American Merchandise, run by Obie Garbeau II played by Ted Levine.

“We have to find a new home,” Dunst told Entertainment Weekly in 2017 before they started filming. “It’s being put together. It’s so good and everyone just needs to make it happen now!”

She also teased her character, “she’s [a bada**], but she becomes that. It’s going to be one of the most fun roles I’ve ever played… it’s a great pilot!”

Comparing Stubbs to a pelican, Ted Levine’s character says, “The pelican is an animal both wildly and fierce. She’s graceful as she soars through the sky searching for food. She observes; she plans; attacks! Learn from the pelican.”
