For anyone still unsure if Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have any “Bad Blood” left between the two of them, Swift’s newest music video for “You Need To Calm Down” has put that all in the past.
Dressed as a hamburger (Perry) and French fries (Swift) the two make-up on camera for all the world to see, but according to Swift, they have been on the same page “for a while.”
Speaking to “Capital Breakfast” in the United Kingdom, in an interview to air on Tuesday morning, the “ME!” singer said, “[Perry] sent me a really nice note and an olive branch — like, an actual olive branch — to my tour when it started, the Reputation Stadium Tour, a while ago.” She continued, “From that point on, we’ve been on good terms.”
“Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things, and then we saw each other again and hung out at another party, and it was just like something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us,” Swift added. “And, you know, she and I have been fine for a while and really on good terms, but we didn’t know if we were ever going to really tell people about it. We wanted to make sure that was solid between us before we ever made the public aware.”
Not only are Perry and Swift on good terms, but the “Bon Appétit” songstress also promoted the new video calling it “BEEF-free”.
Swift’s seventh album Lover will be released on August 23.
