It was the Brits versus the Americans in a “Late Late Show” skit Monday.
James Corden and Michelle Obama went head-to-head for an epic game of dodgeball, with the former First Lady assembling the best of the best from the US for her team, while Corden got together some of the UK’s finest stars.
Obama’s Team USA consisted of Allison Janney, Mila Kunis, Melissa McCarthy, Lena Waithe and Kate Hudson.
Corden’s Team UK, on the other hand, was made up of Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley and Reggie Watts.
The skit began with Corden and Obama bickering about who was the best in “Carpool Karaoke”, before talk turned to sport.
Corden said, “With all due respect, I’m British. There is nothing you can do that we can’t do better,” before the duo decided there was only one way to solve the argument; a game of dodgeball.
Obama said, “I’ve made some calls and let’s just say this team is going to eat them for breakfast. You would not believe how easy it was to get people to do this. All I had to say was, ‘you’re going to throw a ball at James Corden.'”
While Styles joked, “When James Corden calls you, you initially ignore the call but then he keeps calling you and then starts texting… then he shows up at your house, your work, your hairdresser, your pilates class and your shower.”
