Lena Headey says Cersei’s “Game Of Thrones” storyline on the hit series almost looked a lot different.

The actress who played Queen Cersei Lannister for eight seasons stopped by a comic book convention in Munich and revealed that writers cut a scene that could have made viewers understand Cersei’s decisions in the final two seasons.

According to Headey, the scene that was supposed to air in the seventh season showed Cersei “lose the baby.” She said the scene was “traumatic” but a “great moment for Cersei.”

“I kind of loved doing that because I thought it would’ve served her differently,” she confessed.

In season seven, Cersei revealed she was pregnant with her brother Jaime’s (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) baby. While for the rest of the series, she referenced the baby quite often, she also led Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asabaek) to believe the baby was his.

But because Cersei’s miscarriage scene was cut, fans are now wondering if she was actually pregnant as the series finale drew closer.

“Game of Thrones” wrapped last month after eight seasons on HBO.
