It’s a longstanding annual tradition for Time magazine to single out one individual as its “Person of the Year,” and a new Change.org petition thinks that person should be Keanu Reeves.
The tongue-in-cheek petition keeps things short and sweet, simply insisting that “Keanu is the most wholesome person alive, make him the person of the year!”
While the petition was clearly launched in jest, the anonymous person who created it has clearly tapped into the universal love the 54-year-old “John Wick” star seems to inspire; as of the time of writing, the petition had more than 13,500 signatures of its target of 15,000.
Meanwhile, the stars appear to be aligning for the Canadian-born actor, who is seemingly all over pop culture at the moment thanks to the recent release of “John Wick: Chapter 3”, his hilariously self-effacing cameo in Netflix rom-com “Always Be My Maybe”, his surprise appearance at the recent E3 Expo to announce his role in CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated video game “Cyberpunk 2077”, his role in “Toy Story 4” and, of course, the news that he’ll reunite with Alex Winter for a second sequel to “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure”, more than 30 years after the release of the original.
“It’s been really nice and special for me,” Reeves recently told ET about the huge wave of fan appreciation that’s hitting him at the moment.

“Just how well the ‘John Wick’ film was received and then also recently with ‘Always Be My Maybe’ and then being connected with ‘CD Projekt Red’,” he said. “I’ve just had the chance to be working with really cool people and be a part of really cool projects… It’s nice when it’s nice.”
