Christina Aguilera says she would support her children if they wanted to embark on a career in show business.
“I can’t fault them for something I wanted to do,” she tells the U.K. chat show “Lorraine”. Aguilera is mom to son Max, 11, and daughter Summer, 4.
“At least they are getting their childhood and I am providing them a safe space,” she continues, adding that she knows all the “ins and outs” following her own time as a child star who began her career at age seven.

“You have a lot of older men, and people and opinions being thrown at you, pushed at you, you’re pushed and pulled,” she explains, crediting her experiences with helping her become a stronger performer and woman.
“Finally I was able to take my mask off and say, ‘This is how I need to do this for myself if I have any chance of surviving,'” she adds.
Aguilera kicked off her Las Vegas residency “The Xperience” earlier this month.
