Bobby Brown sat down with “Good Morning America”; co-host Robin Roberts for an extensive interview in which he opens up about the tragic deaths, just three years apart, of ex-wife Whitney Houston and their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.
In the interview, Brown does not shy away from taking responsibility for his parental failures. “We should have been better,”; he tells Roberts. “We should have been better.”;
As for the eerie similarities between the deaths, Brown insists: “It’s not a mystery to me. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney…. There’s only one person that was around both occasions. Only one person who says they were there to protect them … and he didn’t.”;

The person he’s referring to, says Roberts, is Nick Gordon (whom Brown is currently suing in a $10-million wrongful death lawsuit). Replies Brown: “I won’t say his name.”;
Brown also recalls the heartbreak of taking his daughter off life support and encouraging her to let go.
“The last thing I told her, I just said, “Let go.’ I said, “It’s OK, you can go with your mom, daddy’ll be all right. I love you. You can rest now. Hardest thing I had to do in my life was tell my daughter to let go,”; says Brown. “I don’t wish that on my worst enemy or any enemy. That is the worst pain in the world.”;
The full interview airs Tuesday, June 7 on “20/20″.
