Sophie Turner recently sat down for a wide-ranging chat with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s “HFPA In Conversation” podcast, and the newlywed “Dark Phoenix” star opened up about what her father thinks about his new son-in-law, Joe Jonas.
According to the former “Game of Thrones” actress, 23, her dad wasn’t particularly aware of the Jonas Brothers — but he certainly is now!
“Well, he’s getting into the Jonas Brothers,” said Turner. “They weren’t his demographic! But he’s getting into them now and he loves them and the new music is fantastic.”

In fact, she divulges that her father definitely approves of her choice of spouse.
“So yeah, my dad was beyond pleased when I married a musician because it was always kind of… ‘You have to marry a rugby player or a musician!’ So I got one of them right,” she added.
“Music has always been a big part of my life,” she explained, gushing that her dad “has the best music taste. I hated it when I was younger and now I can’t stop listening to it.”

Meanwhile, Turner admitted she’s still struggling with the nomenclature now that she and Jonas, 29, are husband and wife.
“I keep going from boyfriend, to fiancé, to husband, I can’t figure out what to say!” she joked. “It’s early days but we’re very happy.”
Later in the interview, Turner admits that just because she’s famous doesn’t mean she doesn’t get starstruck when meeting other celebs.
“I met Daniel Radcliffe who, you know, was my childhood hero because of ‘Harry Potter’, and I believe I collapsed to my knees and I started crying,” she said with a laugh. “But yeah, I’m terrible around celebrities, or just people I admire. I met [former U.S. President Barack] Obama, and I cried and I told him he was the greatest president to ever have lived… I think I just say things often that I don’t truly mean — although he was a wonderful, wonderful president.”
