Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello had more than one collaboration drop Friday.

The pair, who just teamed up for their second single together “Señorita”, also joined forces on the cover of V Magazine.

Mendes and Cabello, longtime friends, chat about the new song and why their ideas for a followup to their 2015 hit “I Know What You Did Last Summer” got completely shut down.

The first followup was “I Know What You Did Last Fall” but according to Mendes, their managers immediately said no.

“They were like, ‘No,’ and we were like, ‘What?!’ We almost fired them,” Mendes confessed. “We were like, ‘What do you mean? How’s that not a good idea?’”

“It was really cool. Then we did the winter version that was like a ‘Game Of Thrones’ version,” Cabello added. “Then we did spring, which was like flowers.”

And when all their ideas were shut down, they came up with “Señorita”.

“None of those worked,” said Shawn. “But ‘Señorita’ was great. I think this is probably the most anticipation I’ve ever had to release a song. Besides ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer.’”
