“James Bond 25” former director Danny Boyle already has his idea of who should be the next 007.
If it was up to Boyle, Robert Pattinson would be filling the iconic shoes.
“It was so bizarre because I was sitting there thinking: ‘Oh my God, they should get him to be the next Bond,’” Boyle said in an interview with The Guardian to promote his newest film “Yesterday”.
The revelation came while watching Pattinson in “High Life”. When questioned if Pattinson was too young, Boyle responded, “No, no. He must be in his 30s. How old was [Sean] Connery? He’s ready now.”
The answer for curious minds- – Connery was 32. Pattinson is currently 33.
Boyle was set to direct the next “Bond” film after being hired by John Hodge but last August it was revealed that “due to creative differences” Boyle was no longer apart of the project.
“I was with John and they didn’t really like what we were doing and so it’s far better to part company,” he briefly said during his Guardian interview. “What we were doing was good. But it was obviously not what they wanted.” Beyond that, he wouldn’t elaborate on his departure.

Pattinson seems suited to franchise roles with “Twilight”, “Harry Potter”, and up next “Batman” all under his belt.
Perhaps a “Batman”/ “James Bond” crossover will be the only way to fit all the roles into his busy schedule.
