Ryan Reynolds has had some pretty creative advertisements for his company, Aviation Gin, but this one might take the cake.
Reynolds shared a five-star review posted on Amazon from a Champ Nightengale. “I loved this review of Aviation Gin someone sent me after I wrote it,” he captioned the screenshot.
“I loved it and hated it,” the review starts.
The reason the reviewer/Reynolds loved it? “It wasn’t Juniper forward, which for me is what makes this particular Gin so special.”
“What did I hate about it? I wish they’d provide some kind of warning about how much you’re supposed to have.”
The rest of the review goes on to tell how everything is “a bit of a blur”.
“When I woke up the next day, I mentioned to my wife Linda that last night must have been a REAL blowout because I slept in my clothes. Even my shoes!” Reynolds continued. “I also noticed it was really hard to look out the window at the Seattle skyline. Partly because of the bright sun (I’ve always been sensitive to light) but also because I don’t live in Seattle. I live in Coral Gables, Florida. Also, it’s important to note, until that morning, I’d never met anyone named Linda.”
Reynolds’ mom, Tammy Stewart Reynolds wasn’t going to let him get away with his self-promotion.
“Ahhhh … yes … I thought I heard my son’s voice in that narrative,” she commented.
Reynolds then quickly replied, “Mom, you say that about every episode of ‘CSI Miami’.”
Other over-the-top marketing campaigns have included Reynolds and Hugh Jackman unveiling commercials for each other’s brands and winning the approval of Fyre Festival’s Andy King.
