Jake Gyllenhaal says he felt “strong” after putting on his Mysterio costume for “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.
“I mean, I really love the suit,” he tells ET Canada’s Keshia Chante during a sit-down interview in London, England. “I didn’t like to take the suit off.”
“It was a very hot suit. It has a number of layers to it so it took a little bit of time to put on but once it was on it made me feel pretty strong. Though I had like a 40-pound cape attached to my neck,” he explains, adding he wasn’t so sure about what the suit would be like before filming began.
“I was a little worried about the suit before we did it before I put it on or before I saw it cause he has a fishbowl helmet I didn’t know how that was going to play,” Gyllenhaal, 38, says. “But they killed it with the fishbowl helmet.”
Keshia and Gyllenhaal’s co-star Tom Holland have a few questions about who the actor thinks is the sexiest Avenger. Gyllenhaal said Holland before changing his answer to Chris Hemsworth during a recent appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
“I’m a performer and when I said it, there wasn’t quite the same response as when I said Thor, if I’m honest. And I was surprised. Because you heard my truth,” Gyllenhaal explains of his back-tracking decision. “At first. But then I felt like I had to appease the audience and, I mean, it’s the easy go-to, isn’t it?”
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” opens in theatres on July 2.
