There’s a feature adaptation of the musical “The Prom” on the way.

According to Deadline, Ryan Murphy is set to direct and produce the upcoming flick as part of his five-year deal with Netflix.

Murphy has reportedly bagged an all-star cast for the movie, with Meryl Streep set to star alongside James Corden, Nicole Kidman, and Ariana Grande.

Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and Andrew Rannells will also play key roles.

Streep will play Dee Dee Allen, while Corden will star as Barry Glickman, Kidman as Angie Dickinson, and Grande stars as Alyssa.

It is rumoured Murphy will direct the film in December ahead of the 2020 awards season.

The director is already working on three series: “The Politicians”, “Ratched”, and “Hollywood”.

There are also two documentaries on the way, with a “Boys in the Band” stage adaptation in the works as well.
