It was starting to look like “The Simple Life” could be making a comeback, however, Paris Hilton’s rep has now denied that this is the case to ET Canada.
Fans started to speculate a reboot of the hit Hilton, Nicole Richie-led reality series was in the works after a Twitter account was created on Tuesday.
The new account featured the original promo picture of Richie and Hilton, but was only following – as many fans noticed – Hilton, Netflix and Lindsay Lohan.
Fans thought Netflix was reviving the beloved series with Hilton starring next to her former BFF, Lohan.
In a number of tweets, the account sent fans into a frenzy when they shared the hashtag “#SimpleLife6” since the original series ran from 2003 to 2007, for only five seasons.
Next, they shared a photo of Lohan and Hilton with the caption: “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”
However, while speculation grew, a source was quick to shut down the rumours.
An insider told Entertainment Weekly, “that there is no truth to rumours about a planned revival on Netflix.”
“The Simple Life” Twitter account has also lost its verified checkmark.
Hilton’s rep then told ET Canada that the claims were simply “not true.”
